Birth and Postpartum Doula in Charlotte

Hello! My name is Cherish Thomas and I am a professionally trained Birth Doula and Newborn Care Specialist. I look forward to spending the next couple of months with you as we embark on your beautiful pregnancy together! The next couple of months will be significant to you and your family as you experience your birth journey! I am here to help and support you every step of the way. I will provide you with loving support and knowledge during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.. It is my mission to enrich the physical and emotional health of the expecting mother and partner through comfort and education. A little bit about myself. I'm a Teacher Assistant for children with exceptionalities. I earned my Associates of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Central Piedmont Community College. I was a infant and toddler Lead Teacher for about five years before I joined the school system. I received my Birth Doula Certification from Train with Kira and received my Newborn Care Specialist certification from the Cradle Coach Academy. I am a mother of four beautiful children, two boys and two girls! I had my oldest a month after I turned eighteen, getting pregnant at seventeen and graduating high school was not an easy task especially with little support, this is why I decided to become a Newborn Care Specialist/Postpartum doula to support mothers during the postpartum period. I also witness the mistreatment of a mother in labor. I couldn't believe how the mother was being treated. Luckily I was there to advocate on her behalf, because she didn't have a partner to advocate for her. This is why I had a passion for becoming a Birth Doula to offer my support during pregnancy and labor, and to make sure a mother is not alone during one of the most important times in her life.
